NEWCOMERS OR for more experienced dancers, to refresh, review, reinforce and refine your all important fundamentals!
Information, technique, practical application to help you get out onto the social dance floor at the milonga (the social dance) and enjoy this wonderful dance! Including technique for the embrace, walking, pivoting and turning, with a strong emphasis on comfort, connection, navigation and musicality.
The last portion of the workshop will be a beginner’s social dance, called a “milonga”, where we will practice in a line of dance, practice using the “codes” of the milonga, and introduce the group to how the music is played for social dancing.
What to wear- comfortable clothing, shoes to pivot. Ballet slippers work well, socks are also fine. Ladies no need to wear heels, they are not a requirement!!
PLEASE REFRAIN from wearing strong perfumes or colognes, as we will be getting close in class. Some people are sensitive.
Bring a snack if you wish and a water bottle.
Water will be available to refill as needed.
