Vida Mia: Workshop & performance by Carolina Jaurena, DJ Dennis

Greetings Tango Dancers!
For the October edition of Vida Mia we have several treats in store for you! Dancing with power and yet with extraordinary grace, Carolina Jaurena will be sharing her insights and knowledge with us in a special pre-milonga workshop. Don’t miss it! Carolina will also be performing with a young surprise dancer (!) – guess who 🙂 … Finally, we are excited to welcome back Dennis Gaitsgory as our guest-DJ for the night – we are looking forward to dancing to his delightful selection of tunes.

8pm – 9pm: “El Abrazo – Connection for Optimal Balance and Pivoting on One Foot” – special pre-milonga workshop by Carolina

9pm – 1am: Milonga with performance, DJ Dennis Gaitsgory

Location: Dance Union, 16 Bow St. in Somerville, MA

Admission (delicious refreshments included): $25 whole event, $15 class only, $15 milonga only; students with ID: $20 or $10 milonga only

ABOUT CAROLINA JAURENA: Carolina was bound at an early age to follow a desire to perform. She has been teaching and performimg for over 10 years, the height of her professional career is marked by her role as a primary dancer in the feature film Random Hearts directed by Sidney Pollack. Throughout her career as a dancer and performer she has been part of performances including “Eternal Tango” with Hector del Curto, The Show “Tanguero”, “Tango! Soul and Heart” with the Choral Arts Society of Washington at Kennedy Center and the off Broadway Show “Tango House” produced by Juan Fabbri. She has also performed several seasons at the Thalia Spanish Theater in New York. International workshops and performances include Canarias Tango in Spain, 100 anos de tango at the Solis Theater in Uruguay and in Germany she has performed at The Theaterhaus in Stuttgart the Alte Synagoge in Hechingen and has taught Workshops at Landesakademie in Ochsenhausen. She has been invited to teach and perform at several tango festivals including; Tango Norte Festival in Sweden, Yale Tango Fest, Tango Fest Houston and New Orleans Tango Festival. Carolina is a respected and sought after performer and instructor she is renowned for her precision of movement, professionalism and charisma.
